Re: Now back to the music- An extra special He's Gone |
I recently reviewed 9/26/72, and had this to say about the HE'S GONE:
Best...and i mean BEST "He's Gone" i've ever experienced--right here. It's self-contained, letter perfect, with an impromptu blues show by Jerry well after the "doo-wop" chorus of "...nuthin's gonna bring him back..." I think this version was so good they didn't even want it to segue into anything else.
I am also finding it impossible to pick which of the 3-night run from 9/26 to 9/28/72 at the Stanley is the best. They are all phenomenal.
The 9/28 features the Greatest "Greatest" I've ever heard. I've nicknamed it the "Greatest STEPHEN Ever Told" b/c Jerry clearly jams on the Stephen rift again and again during the heart of the jam.
All '72 Stanleys are amazing, and I agree w/LazarusLiam right on about the He's Gone from 9/26.
